Diets 2-3 tablespoons oil
2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
2 pounds ground beef, browned
16 ounces Tuscanini Red Kidney Beans
1 (14.1 ounce) can Tuscanini Diced Tomatoes
1 tablespoon chili powder (use gluten free chili powder if needed)
1 teaspoon beef soup mix (use gluten free beef soup mix if needed)
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 cup Heinz chili sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Heat oil in sauté pan over medium to high heat. Add onions and garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent, about five to seven minutes. Add garlic and ground beef, and brown, about 6-10 minutes (meat does not have to be completely cooked).
Add beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, beef soup mix, cumin, chili sauce, salt and pepper and stir using a wooden spoon. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low and simmer for one and a half to two hours, stirring occasionally. When done, beef should be tender and the chili should look dark and rich.
