When we have burgers for dinner, my wife often turns hers into a fully-loaded burger salad. You might not get that feeling of holding the burger in two hands and sinking your teeth into the bun, but you do get a delicious salad with all of the same flavors. This salad is great with or without the burger; the decision is yours!
1 head romaine lettuce
1 large tomato, sliced
1 large portobello mushroom
1/2 white or red onion (not yellow), thinly sliced
1 avocado
1 burger, grilled
cooked beef fry, for topping (optional)
pickles (optional; I like bread and butter)
Drizzle olive oil over tomatoes and mushrooms and grill.
Cut all salad components into bite-size pieces and dress with either garlic mayo, honey mustard, or any olive oil vinaigrette. Toss and serve.
