Tomato and basil are one of my favorite food pairings. You’ve seen me pair them with pasta (Whisk Issue #271) and before that with chicken (Whisk Issue #201). You can also enjoy them on a simple slice of toasted bread (even gluten-free, if desired).

Prepare the Toast
Spread store-bought pesto on toast.
Top with sun-dried tomatoes and sprinkle with cheese.
You can substitute plain tomatoes for sun-dried tomatoes.
For great toast flavor, I paired this toast with Breadsmith’s seeded sunflower bread.
