Submitted by Miriam Hammer This is the supper for those days where you need something quick that will please everyone. Also fantastic for when you’re craving homemade take-out. Yup, that’s a real thing.
4 chicken cutlets, chopped really small
1 Tbsp oil
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika to taste (be generous)
Pita/wraps
Israeli salad
Lettuce
Sliced pickles
Pickled onions
Hummus
Techina
Russian dressing
Mix the chicken with the oil and spices until it’s all coated well. Wear plastic gloves to make this easier.
Heat a frying pan or grill pan over medium-high heat and add chicken. Using a wooden spoon, mix chicken occasionally, breaking up any clumps, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile prepare the toppings in small bowls. When chicken is ready, everyone can prepare their own schwarmas in pitas, wraps or on a bed of lettuce.
