This summer take your ice cream game up a notch. Watch how easy it is to create edible cookie bowls; be prepared to never serve ice cream straight from the carton again!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cream the butter and sugars. Add in the egg and yolk. Mix well.
Sift in flour. Add salt. Mix to combine until a unified dough is achieved.
Add the chocolate and mix.
Turn over a muffin tin. Liberally grease the outside of the muffin wells. Lay a large disc of cookie dough over the outside of each muffin cup, molding the dough halfway up the sides.
Bake for 15 minutes, until the bowls are firm and browned.
Fill the bowls with a scoop of ice cream. Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Actually worked quite well BH. Be VERY GENEROUS greasing the pan. I used baking pam, worked great. They do grow a little so the edges hit the surface of the pan and formed a flat edge, so in the future I’d use less batter per bowl. Recipe definitely yields more than 8, I would say closer to double that. But all in all great recipe and will definitely make it again. A Keeper!!!!
it turned out not as good as I wanted it to be. It stuck to the muffin pan and it wouldn’t come off it was hard and hard to chew.
OMG! They turned out absolutely beautiful! This is a proper Rosh Hashana desert. I made 12 big ones, but one fell apart so I got to eat it. Even the cookie is incredible just to have as a cookie. Thank you so much for this amazing recipe. P.s just reading back to other ppls reviews and seeing that there’s didn’t turn out right. I actually measured all ingredients out into little bowls and then did every step as the video went along.
Leaked all over the sides and didn’t come off even though i added lots spray oil.
Same thing happens to me
Looks way too simple
Did come out like the pic at all ;(
8 out of 10 tuned out baked 17 min only 1 slide down but that was the 1st one I formed and it was to much dough very happy
This didn’t turn out well. We followed the directions and the bowls stuck like glue to the muffin tins. My friend made the recipe also following exactly and it happened to her also. Was a mess and a disaster!
Oil Can I use oil instead of butter?
I have never tried it but I think it should be fine. You could also try margarine or coconut oil.
Disaster These don’t work. I followed the directions exactly. The dough ran down the sides and was impossible to take off the pan. I ended up scraping them off and crumbling into an ice Cream instead…
So sorry!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Bowls Can I use oil instead of margarine or butter?
I wouldn’t in this recipe. It needs to stiffness that the margarine brings.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Bowls so i tried these, and the dough did not hold the bowl shape- it ran down the sides and spread on the bottom. where did i go wrong?
Oy. Ruchie. That’s so frustrating. I am not sure where you went wrong because I wasn’t there. But did you do anything different from the directions?
Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Bowls so excited to try these! can i do this on disposable muffin tins, or they won’t come off?
You would need to majorly spray it.
cookie bowls why doesnt someone answer if we can use margarine instead and if we should spray the outside of muffin tin

I gave my thoughts in the original comments.
can you make this parve? I would love to make this for a shabbos dessert, can i substitute the butter for margarine?
Absolutely!
You can absolutely substitute the butter with margarine! As a general rule, if you want to make a dessert Parve, you can substitute the butter with margarine.
substitute for the cookie dough Jut curious. Although this is a very simple recipe, I was wondering. Can I use an already prepared cookie dough, such as Kineret’s chocolate chip cookie dough?
I think it’s definitely doable. Might not taste as amazing as homemade, but conceptually should work.
I see that in the video she has a non stick pan. Was yours nonstick?
spray muffin pan Are you supposed to spray the muffin tin on the outside? My cups did not come off the tin.
It’s probably a good idea.
I just made these and I can’t get the bowls to come off either. If we were supposed to spray the pan, this was a big omission.
Before you try an oil spray, you can either make a parchment paper t- lift, where you cut two strips of parchment paper and make a put them in opposite directions in the cup with the strips overhanging, or oil AND flour the cups, this way you don’t risk getting an oily or slightly fried edge.
Parve? Can you substitute the butter to make this a parve dish?
How about margarine?
Adorable!! Cant wait to try this!
SAve me one!!
