Ingredients (7)

Main ingredients

Start Cooking

Prepare the Ice Cream Bowls

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Cream the butter and sugars. Add in the egg and yolk. Mix well.

  3. Sift in flour. Add salt. Mix to combine until a unified dough is achieved.

  4. Add the chocolate and mix.

  5. Turn over a muffin tin. Liberally grease the outside of the muffin wells. Lay a large disc of cookie dough over the outside of each muffin cup, molding the dough halfway up the sides.

  6. Bake for 15 minutes, until the bowls are firm and browned.

  7. Fill the bowls with a scoop of ice cream. Add a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Oy. Ruchie. That's so frustrating. I am not sure where you went wrong because I wasn't there. But did you do anything different from the directions?

You can absolutely substitute the butter with margarine! As a general rule, if you want to make a dessert Parve, you can substitute the butter with margarine.

    spray muffin pan

Are you supposed to spray the muffin tin on the outside? My cups did not come off the tin.

I just made these and I can't get the bowls to come off either. If we were supposed to spray the pan, this was a big omission.

Before you try an oil spray, you can either make a parchment paper t- lift, where you cut two strips of parchment paper and make a put them in opposite directions in the cup with the strips overhanging, or oil AND flour the cups, this way you don't risk getting an oily or slightly fried edge.

    substitute for the cookie dough

Jut curious. Although this is a very simple recipe, I was wondering. Can I use an already prepared cookie dough, such as Kineret's chocolate chip cookie dough?

I think it's definitely doable. Might not taste as amazing as homemade, but conceptually should work.
