Diets This amazing, refreshing dessert of frozen berries cooked in dry red wine and served with ice cream is perfect for serving adult friends and family at your next summer celebration or get-together.
1 bottle Alfasi Cabernet Sauvignon or other dry red wine
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Ground Cinnamon, plus more for garnish
1 teaspoon Gefen Vanilla Sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
20 ounces frozen mixed berries
1 container (parve) vanilla ice cream
fresh mint leaves
In a medium saucepan, combine wine, cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add frozen berries. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, around two hours.
Spoon some berries into small, wide glasses. Top with ice cream and garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and fresh mint leaves.
