Ingredients

Fried Faked Ziti

  • 1 batch faked ziti, chilled 

  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • 2 cups crushed (kosher) Doritos

  • oil, for frying

Directions

Prepare the Fried Faked Ziti

1.

Slice the chilled faked ziti into squares or planks, or roll them into balls about the size of a golf ball. Dunk each portion in egg, then coat thoroughly with crushed Doritos. Place into the freezer to firm up while heating the oil.

2.

Heat your oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and fry until golden brown. Remove from the oil and sprinkle Parmesan generously over the top. Enjoy with warm marinara sauce.

What leaves me wondering is why the Doritos didn’t actually hold or stick on the ziti squares….
