Diets This recipe for whole wheat bread uses 1 part white flour to 5 parts whole wheat flour, minimal oil, and no egg. Slice and serve with cold cuts and mustard or toasted with cheese and avocado.
5 pounds Shibolim Whole Wheat Flour
1 pound white flour
2 tablespoons coarse salt
5 tablespoons oil
5 tablespoons Gefen Honey
4 ounces yeast
6 cups warm water
Dissolve yeast with honey in one cup of the warm water. Allow yeast to activate.
Combine all ingredients and knead to form smooth dough. Let rise for one hour.
Form into six loaves. Place into baking pans and let rise for an additional hour.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes.
Yields 6 loaves
