Submitted by Esther Waldman An easy one-dish supper!
1 lg onion
1 lg green pepper
12 oz mushrooms (I like fresh)
15 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
Cap of vinegar
1 oz brown sugar
2 lb ground beef
1 egg
salt
pepper
paprika to taste
garlic powder, to taste
onion powder to taste
Breadcrumbs or soaked rye bread or seltzer (just for the meat to be more juicy and fluffy)
Gefen lasagna noodles
Sauté vegetables until golden then you add tomato sauce, ketchup, water, vinegar, brown sugar, and you bring to a boil.
In a separate bowl you prepare ground beef with egg spices and your choice of crumbs, bread or seltzer.
When all is done, put a baking sheet into the 9x 13 foil and start layering: lasagna meat sauce lasagna sauce meat sauce lasagna sauce.
Poor a 3/4 cup of water over it and bake well covered on 400F for 2 hours!
