Diets A welcome change from the usual side dishes, and it’s really easy! After I tried this out one Shabbos, my family kept requesting it again and again. Yours will, too.
1 Glicks Pie Crust, unbaked
1 14-ounce (400 gram) can crushed pineapple, drained well
4 eggs
3 tablespoons oil
5 heaping tablespoons Haddar Unsweetened Applesauce
1/3 cup cane sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour, such as Shibolim White Whole Wheat Flour
1 package vanilla sugar
1 container non-dairy whipped cream (optional)
1 package candied cherries (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
Mix all the filling ingredients in a food processor until just blended.
Pour mixture into the pie crust.
When the pie has cooled, top it with whipped cream and candied cherries, if desired.
Bake for 40 minutes, or until set.
