2 years ago, when I was 4, I got in the car after school and told my mother I wanted to make pretzel salad. She asked me what pretzel salad was and I answered, “salad with pretzels of course!!!”
At first I wanted to use regular pretzels, like the leftovers from snack. My mom and I worked together and we created this recipe.
It’s the first recipe I created and I’m so proud of it!!!!
1 head of lettuce, cut up
1 orange and 1 yellow pepper, diced
1/2 pint of cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cucumber, peeled and diced
2 handfuls of craisins
15-20 pretzel crisps, smashed lightly in a bag
1/2 cup mayo
2 Tbsp white vinegar
1 Tsp yellow mustard
1 Tbsp water
1/2 Tsp onion powder
1/2 Tsp garlic powder
1/4 Tsp salt
Add all salad ingredients, besides the pretzels. Mix. Add the smashed pretzels on top.
Add all the dressing ingredients to a container and close with a lid. Shake till combined. You will make more than you need.
Dress the salad and mix right before serving.
