I spent many a day tweaking this waffle recipe until I got it to taste 99.9% like the ones they serve at the Soramelo café in Machane Yehuda. It’s the closest thing to eating right there in Soramelo near the blue door.

Prepare the Waffles and Topping

Mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.

Mix the sugar, milk, sour cream, oil, egg, and vanilla in a second bowl.

Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix well until you have a smooth batter.

Heat a waffle iron until super hot. Spray nonstick spray and then ladle a spoonful of batter onto the waffle griddle. Close and cook until done (see note).

Top with tahini, silan, whipped cream, and sliced bananas.
Tip:
This tip comes from Sharon himself: the first waffle you make on the grill will ALWAYS come out bad. Scrape it down and the second one will be perfect.
