File this idea away: Got too many challah rolls for mishloach manot? Turn them into challah kugel! Here’s a classic, easy recipe.

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 medium challah, soaked in water, crust removed, excess water squeezed

  • 3 to 4 eggs

  • 1 apple, finely grated

  • 4 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar

  • 2 to 3 ounces walnuts, chopped

Directions

Make the Challah Kugel

1.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.

Combine all ingredients except for walnuts. Mash and combine very well with a potato masher.

3.

Add walnuts. Bake in a four- x 10-inch loaf pan for 35 to 45 minutes.
