I have one burger-loving daughter, but the rest of my kids aren’t the biggest fans of ground beef. But — funny thing — somehow when you add some chips, everything is worth a taste at least!
6 burger buns
1 pound (450 grams) ground beef
1-ounce packet taco seasoning
2 avocados
salt, to taste
2 tomatoes, sliced thinly and seasoned with salt
1 red onion, sliced thinly
1 2-ounce (55-gram) bag tortilla chips (I used Doritos)
1/2 cup Gefen Mayonnaise
juice of 1/2 lime
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground onion
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
Preheat grill. Divide meat into six and gently form into burgers. Spray both sides of each burger with cooking spray and season both sides with taco seasoning.
Cut avocado into half-inch (one-centimeter) slices, leaving peel on. Spray both sides with oil and season lightly with salt.
Mix mayo and seasonings for the chili mayo.
Grill each burger for three to five minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
Grill the avocado slices for one minute per side, then remove peel.
Spread chili mayo on each bun, then add tomato slices, red onion, burger, grilled avocado, and three to four tortilla chips.
