Diets Here’s another variation of a kugel that can be prepared in your cholent while it cooks. This kugel contains more vegetables (so it’s healthier, right?) and comes out fluffy and delicious.
You can use your favorite cholent recipe, or try this easy, classic cholent by Leah Schapira.
2 carrots
1 celery stalk
1 onion
2 cloves garlic or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 cup water, divided
1 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
2 cups flour
2 cups Yehuda Matzo Meal
1 egg
Process all vegetables with 1/3 cup water.
Add remaining water, oil and spices. Mix well.
Stir in remaining ingredients by hand to form dough-like consistency.
Shape into two loaves, roll in Gefen Parchment Paper. Drop into boiling chulent.

Kishka Is this meant to cook in the crock pot with the chulent until lunch?
veg kugel Do you cook it in parchment? Can you bake it without putting it in chulent??
I don’t see why this wouldn’t be amazing baked. I know from experience that baking in parchment is great to do. Keeps it neat.
