1/4 cup Gefen Canola Oil
1 onion, sliced or diced
1/2 head cabbage, sliced thin
1 package Manischewitz Mini Bow Ties
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
fresh ground black pepper (yes, even on Yom Tov)
3 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

Hi can this be made in advance and frozen? Thanks
The cabbage-onion mixture can be made ahead and frozen. Just defrost, toss with pasta, and reheat before serving.
How does it work with checking cabbage for bugs? I always wanted to buy a fresh head of cabbage and use it like that!

Hi! According to the OU:
Green cabbage: Detach loose leaves; discard; core the cabbage and
outermost six leaves split head in half. Peel 3 layers; carefully check these 6 leaves under direct light; check both sides. If 1-2 insects are found, check an additional layer. If last three consecutive layers were clean and the remaining leaves are tightly packed together, the remaining leaves of the head may be used without further checking, but should be washed well before use.
