From Italy to Sunny Side Up, Naomi and Adina @nowjewishnanny are back together baking up some goodies. Inspired by Naomi’s viral Lotus Bars, they’re making simple hamantaschen with a citrus twist. Between mixing and folding (and plenty of laughs!), hear why Purim is so meaningful to Adina, and don’t miss her mini Purim lesson on hidden fillings!

Mazal tov!!!!
so nice !!!!
My dough is very dry. Anything I can do to save it? I put one batch in the oven and they all popped open
I’m sorry to hear that! You may be able to rehydrate it by adding more liquid to the dough and slowly kneading it back in. It should help make the dough more manageable.
Can I substitute with hecklers flour ? It it gonna need more liquid since it isn’t soo fine?
I would just be careful to add the flour slowly so start with less and see how it goes (Naomi did mention that in the show) I made them today and didn’t use Tuscannini flour just some 00 flour I had at home but wasnt focusing properly and think I made it too dry by adding too much flour, the dough was very hard to roll out and they all popped open!! 🙁 they tasted yummy but looks…that’s another thing;)
After realising the dough was too dry I tried adding some more orange juice but it was kind of too late. Don’t worry everyone enjoyed eating them still!
What can I substitute the citrus (orange juice and lemon) for?
Because I know it’ll need something to replace the moisture.
Thank you!!
Great enthusiasm, I loved it!!
You can use a non-dairy milk as well 🙂
Ty!
