ANNABEL KARMEL

JAMIE GELLER
Chief Foodie Officer, VP of Content & Marketing

Jamie Geller is a best selling author (Quick and Kosher Recipes from the Bride Who Knew Nothing, 2007), an internationally syndicated food and lifestyle columnist, an award-winning television producer, a motivational speaker, and the host of popular Internet cooking shows "Quick & Kosher" and "Simply Kosher."  As Chief Foodie Officer and VP of Content and Marketing for Kosher.com—a kosher food delivery site that provides informative content and serves as the ideal destination for kosher foodies—Jamie will ensure that the site offers plenty of recipes, cooking and food prep tips, as well as videos with culinary demonstrations and appearances by special guests and celebrity chefs.

Dubbed "The Kosher Rachel Ray" by the Miami Herald, Jamie has been featured in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and hundreds of print publications as well as on TV. Currently, Jamie is one of the most sought-after kosher cooks worldwide.

For the Food Network, Jamie produced "Summer Seafood" (which aired in June 2007) starring celebrity chef Tyler Florence, and which achieved instant acclaim.

Jamie also took on prestigious projects and became an award-winning senior writer and producer for HBO. There she worked on the television and theatrical marketing campaigns for the network's Groundbreaking Original series, including The Sopranos, The Wire, HBO Original Films, HBO Concerts and HBO Sports.

She also worked for CNN Entertainment News where her stories and profiles of the world's top celebrities appeared both in the U.S. and across the globe.

On a personal note, Jamie Geller’s incredible religious journey is what inspired her to speak publicly and share the story of how she went from secular award-winning producer to Orthodox Jewish cookbook author and expert. When addressing an audience, she shares how her life transformation led her to become a successful cookbook author and how she was “The Bride Who Knew Nothing” before she grew comfortable in the kitchen. She earned rave reviews for "Quick & Kosher: Recipes from the Bride Who Knew Nothing" along with the reputation for offering brilliant recipes and solutions for those seeking quick and simple dishes that look and taste gourmet, but don’t require elaborate preparation.

“Kosher.com is about bringing kosher home, a singular destination for all things related to kosher,” says Jamie, “For me, the beauty is making it all easy and offering practical solutions. You don’t have to stress out in the kitchen. The goal is to offer simple recipes and suggestions for a kosher diet, and be able to order all the items we mention through the site for quick delivery. Just like the theme of my book, the emphasis of Kosher.com is on ‘Quick and Easy’ so the kosher experience is a pleasurable one.”

Jamie, her husband and her three children live in Monsey, New York.

ANNABEL KARMEL

ANNABEL KARMEL
Columnist for Kosher.com’s “Kids’ Kosher Cooking Corner”

Annabel Karmel, one of the world’s most successful writers on children’s food and nutrition, provides a regular column for Kosher.com titled “Kids Kosher Cooking Corner.” In this column, Karmel covers topics that she's frequently addressed throughout her career helping parents figure out how to get kids to eat healthfully ("Tips for Coping with Fussy Eaters," "Getting Your Kids Cooking in the Kitchen," "Homemade Baby Food Suggestions"). With over 4 million books sold, her cookbooks have been translated into 20 different languages.

It was the tragic death of Karmel's  daughter, Natasha, that inspired her career.  This shattering loss changed Karmel’s life forever. When her son Nicholas was ready for baby foods, he was a terribly fussy eater and she became determined to fix that.  She started experimenting with food to persuade Nicholas to eat and realized nobody had ever bothered to make baby food tasty or interesting before.

She decided to write a book with recipes for babies and toddlers. First Meals (first published as The Healthy Baby Meal Planner in 1991, and then republished as First Meals in 1999), is now the number one bestselling book on feeding young children.

Since writing her first book in 1991, Annabel Karmel has never stopped writing. As her family grew with the birth of her daughters Lara and Scarlett, she came up with more recipes, meal plans for toddlers and young children as well as their families. To date, she has written 19 books, including First Meals & More: Your Questions Answered (a follow-up to First Meals and its original, The Healthy Baby Meal Planner), Cook It Together, Top 100 Baby Purees, I Can Eat a Rainbow, The Fussy Eaters Recipe Book and Favorite Family Meals.

Karmel has become the expert in getting children, no matter how fussy, to follow a healthier diet—without them even noticing or spending hours in the kitchen.

Books are not the only string to Annabel Karmel’s bow.   A household name in the UK, she has become an authority on methods of feeding babies and toddlers, food preparation equipment, children’s food and baking and party ware.   Her recipes are so popular that UK supermarkets now stock a range of her meals.   Her healthy meals are also served in all of the leading theme parks in the UK, the largest group of nurseries, and a chain of family based holiday parks.

Karmel travels frequently to the US and has appeared on many TV programs including the Today Show, Regis and Kelly, Martha Stewart Living Radio, The View, ABC Eyewitness News, and CBS Early Show. She has also written for national US newspapers and magazines including Child Magazine, Kaboose, Family.com, American Baby, Working Mother, Quick & Simple and Parents.

In June 2006, Karmel was appointed a Member of the Order British Empire (MBE) and honored by Queen Elizabeth II for her outstanding work in the field of child nutrition.

Her popular website www.annabelkarmel.com is the number one online destination for child nutrition featuring advice, delicious recipes and social networking.    She has also launched the most comprehensive and informative online TV channel on family nutrition, with recipe videos, Top Tips and interviews with leading experts at www.annabelkarmel.tv.
