The dough for this cookie is not your typical cookie dough. It actually rises and has a yeast dough feel to it. It is incredibly easy to roll out and cut to your desired shape. To enhance the cookie, sprinkle each one with some sugar when there is 2 minutes of bake time left.
6 cups Mishpacha Flour
1 pound butter, unwhipped
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons Gefen Vanilla Sugar
2 teaspoons Gefen Rum Extract
3 egg yolks
pinch of salt
1/2 ounce yeast
1 and 3/4 cups milk
Knead all ingrediets into smooth dough.
Allow to rise for 20-30 minutes.
Roll out dough on a floured board to 1/4″ thickness and cut into desired shapes.
Place on cookie sheet, brush with egg whites.
Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes until done but not brown.
