All it takes is a little time and a little sugar to get beautiful caramelized onions. They are so simple to make and are delicious on chicken. You’ll love this recipe and so will the kids—it’s that good.
2 large white onions, sliced
1/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
1/2 cup Glicks Flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Pereg Pepper
2 pounds chicken breast, sliced thin
Place onions, sugar, and oil in a frying pan. Cook over a medium-low flame for up to an hour, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden brown (the longer they cook, the better they will taste).
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking dish with Gefen Parchment Paper.
Combine flour, salt and pepper in a ziptop bag. Add the chicken and shake until evenly coated.
Remove chicken pieces from flour mixture and lay in prepared baking dish. Once the onions are ready, lay them on top of the chicken. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
