Brown Rice
Can I use brown rice? Any changes to the recipe? Is short grain brown rice better to use than Basmati brown rice?Replies:Brown Basmati adds such a great flavor!! Great idea. You might need to cook a drop longer. -
Replies:Put the chicken in the crock pot whole, or halve it if you like. I think that it gets so soft that it becomes fork ready to break up and shred or keep it as you like...

Replies:Hi Chaya, Whenever I buy chicken cutlets, I have been getting about 3-4 cutlets to a pound. In that case, I would say that you should probably halve the recipe, but be conservative on the spices. You can add more salt and pepper later. Hope this helps!I cook using very little chicken, since I'm just preparing for two adults. I'm nervous that the water reduction could cause the food to burn.I think it's about ratio of rice to water that counts the most. So long as the ration follows through, you are ok.It's a crockpot recipe, though. The water evaporates at the same rate, so how do you adjust the time?Crockpots are pretty forgiving. But I will ask if the time needs that much of a reduction.
