Green beans are so versatile, they can be made in so many different ways. Sweet , saucey, savory- you name it. This green bean dish is made with fresh or frozen green beans sauteed in herbs and tomatoes. So fresh tasting and healthy and especially good with Italian foods.

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Bartenura Olive Oil

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 1 bunch scallions (white part only)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic

  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed or about 10 ounces frozen green beans, thawed

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil or 1 cube Dorot Gardens Frozen Basil

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

  • 2 small tomatoes, cut into wedges

Directions

Make the Green Beans

1.

In a very large frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion, white part of scallions and garlic. Cook, stirring, for three minutes. Add green beans; cook for two minutes more, mixing or tossing frequently.

Add water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for seven to 10 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender. Stir in basil, salt, and pepper. Serve with tomato wedges.
