2 onions, diced
2 and 1/2 pounds kolichel, cubed
1 cup red wine, such as Tuscanini Red Cooking Wine
6 to 8 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into large cubes
2 teaspoons Gefen Salt
2 cups water
kishke (optional)
Heat oil in a large pot, then sauteĢ onion until translucent. Add meat and sear for about two minutes per side. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes.
Add wine, potatoes, salt, and two cups water, as well as kishke, if using, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for three hours.

Can this be made in a crock pot?
ingredients say 1 cup + 2 cups wine yet directions say to add 1 cup wine + 2 cups water. would assume the directions is correct but would appreciate you clarify it. tnx

Yes, that’s correct- 2 cups of wine + 1 cup Cooking Wine! They’re 2 different types of wine.
