Serve with a cup of milk (or coffee) on a rushed morning for a healthy, quick, on-the-go meal filled with fiber and nutrients.
1 cup margarine, softened or 1/2 cup margarine and 1/2 cup Haddar Applesauce
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 cup flaxseed
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon Gefen Ground Cinnamon
2 cups wheat cereal flakes (Bran Flakes, etc.)
2 cups oats
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup Gefen Dried Cranberries, raisins, dried cherries, or dried blueberries (any combination)
Preheat oven to 325°F.
Beat margarine and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
Slowly beat in flour, flaxseed, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Stir in cereal, oats, nuts, and dried fruit.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto lined cookie sheets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes on cookie sheets; then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
