This absolutely addicting wild rice is the perfect side dish to any meal. Pair with any meat or fish dish and you won’t be sorry! The nuts add a crunch and flavor that is sure to be a hit!
2 cups long grain and wild rice mix or 1 cup white rice with 1 cup wild rice
3 tablespoons margarine
4 cups water
2 apples, unpeeled, sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Onion Powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup slivered or sliced almonds, toasted
In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt margarine slightly, then add the rice and wild rice and toss it in the margarine until allĀ coated.
Add water, apples and spices. Simmer until liquid is absorbed.
Add nuts and mix well. Serve hot.
