Earlier today, I had a quick phone meeting with Jenna and the mom of the next Nosh & Nibble star. I can’t give away any details yet, but I can tell you that hearing an Israeli accent on the other side of the phone made my heart swell.

My six years of living in Israel kicked in immediately and gave me this sense of wanting to feel Israel and smell Israel and taste Israel right then.

We may or may not be playing with some Israeli vibes in an upcoming episode, but while you cope with that suspense, we have this awesome Mediterranean Shabbat menu for you to make this week!

Shabbat Shalom!

Chanie

Middle-Eastern Baked Fish by Avigail Maizlik

An elegant, restaurant-worthy presentation, with a subtle and rich sauce. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

Chummus Two Ways by Chavi Feldman

Choose from two versions of additions to your hummus- either mushroom or eggplant. Both are delicious!

Creamy Eggplant Spread from the Dining In Cookbook

This amazing roasted eggplant dip is so simple to make. Serve to your Israeli guests and make them feel at home!

Cucumber Salad by Rorie Weisberg

Learn to make this standard cucumber salad with only a tablespoon of raw honey instead of half a cup of table sugar. The result is a recipe that’s a high-quality go-to for every special occasion.

Za’atar Roasted Chicken over Sumac Potatoes by Adeena Sussman

If you’re having a crowd, throw this in the oven and pull it out for oohs and aahs. If you’re feeding a smaller group, be happy because this chicken, pulled off the bone and tossed into a salad, makes a killer next-day lunch.

Lamb Kofta Kabobs by Michal Frischman

The flavors of these kabobs are bold but not too in-your-face. You can omit or decrease any flavor you’re not a fan of. These are great in a fresh pita with some techina and pickled onions.

Balsamic Couscous and Mushroom Salad by Victoria Dwek

Enjoy this warm couscous salad, filled with tons of earthy, comforting vegetables, including these delicious marinated mushrooms.

Flower Cookies with Halvah Filling by Clara Fatal

These cookies look like they come straight from the bakery. Ever noticed how bakeries boast the homestyle taste, while home-based bakers boast the bakery look? This is the perfect shidduch between the two.
