Looking for the perfect quick dessert for your Shabbos table, Purim Seudah or any other occasion? This unbelievable cinnamon pecan babka is unbelievably easy to make! Not a cinnamon fan? Fill it with Nutella, lotus butter, or anything you can dream up!

Ingredients

Babka

  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans

Directions

Make Babka

1.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. 

2.

Roll store bought or homemade pizza or challah dough into a large rectangle, even in thickness throughout. 

3.

Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans, and sprinkle evenly over dough. 

4.

Roll dough in a tight log and pinch seams to seal. 

5.

Slice log down the center and twist the 2 halves with the cut side facing up. 

6.

Transfer carefully to a Gefen Parchment lined baking sheet and bake for about 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

1 ball of pizza dough Shalom. I live on my own but enjoy making good food for my friends. We don’t have balls of dough where I live, or many other American standard weights and measures (e.g. 2 cans of xyz, or 1 package of abc) Please could you weigh one for your international readers and include the ounces or grammes in your recipes? I really want to bake this in memory of my late Bobba. I would brush the pastry with butter to make it richer. Many thanks. Aryeh.

Hi! In general, if you google the products that we use you will see how many grams or ounces they are, making it easier for you to replicate it. Standard pizza dough comes in a bag in the freezer. It’s pretty much a set size.

I want to make my own dough, so wondering how much or is there a recipe that equals the amounts I would need.

You would need the equivalent of the amount of dough to fit a 18 inch pizza pie.
