Diets There’s an artisanal bakery in Minneapolis, where my in-laws live, that I always go to when I’m there, and that’s where I was first introduced to focaccia bread. It’s like a cross between a pizza crust and pita, and it’s unbelievably delicious and flavorful. You can top it with anything—change it around to suit your family’s taste.
Tip: For a quick shortcut, use store-bought pizza dough.
1 and 1/2 cups Glicks Flour
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 tablespoon Gefen Yeast
2 tablespoons oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Tuscanini Coarse Sea Salt
1/2 teaspoon coarse Gefen Black Pepper
1 scallion, diced
3 cloves garlic, diced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon rosemary flakes
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a bowl, mix dough ingredients together until you get a nice dough. Let rise for 30 minutes.
Roll out dough to the size of a 9×13-inch pan. Place in a pan. (I roll the dough on a piece of Gefen Parchment Paper and then transfer the paper to a pan.)
Sprinkle toppings over dough.
Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool and cut into pieces.
