There is nothing like a good BBQ in the summer.

The first time I tried a coffee rub on meat was at a BBQ a few summers ago and I just loved it! That’s why I got super excited when I saw the coffee-rubbed roast recipe on this week’s menu. It’s the perfect dish to celebrate Shabbat Nachamu.

Many have the custom to make a fancier, special menu for the Shabbat after Tisha B’av, but we know that people don’t have time to make long and complicated recipes. That’s why we’re bringing you this fast but fancy menu. All the recipes have a special, show-stopping element, while still being relatively simple.

Coffee-Rubbed Roast by Michal Frischman

The coffee adds a real depth to the roast and plays really nicely off the smokiness of the other spices. Use whatever coffee you like best, but if you don’t want a very overt coffee flavor, go with a light or medium roast.

Simple But Delicious London Broil by Chanie Nayman

London broil really doesn’t need anything complicated. Just a few ingredients and cook it well, and it’s delicious every time. Pair it with greens and lots of fresh roasted vegetables!

Bruschetta Chicken by Elky Friedman

This delicious chicken with chopped salad is an upgrade from your run-of-the-mill schnitzel supper.

Colorful Salad Platter by Brynie Greisman

The fun part about this platter is getting creative and setting it all out! Either do it in rows on a rectangular platter or in concentric circles on a round one or just toss it all together in a bowl. Same delicious taste!

White Wine Haricot Verts by Chaia Frishman

With a light infusion of white wine and some delicious shallots (also a smaller and sweeter relative of the onion), this is a simple side. And yes, feel free to substitute with string beans and sweet onions!

Fruit-Topped Brownie “Pizza” by Miriam (Pascal) Cohen

This brownie pizza is a family favorite! It looks like it took hours to prepare but it’s really simple and very delicious.

Sorbet with Rice Krispy Crunch by Michal Frischman

This super simple but showstopping dessert is a great end to any meal.
