One thing every bungalow has in common? That one dessert everyone hopes will show up at the kiddush, Shabbos meal, or neighbor's porch get-together. As part of our Best of the Bungalows collaboration, we asked each participating community to share the sweet treats their families make on repeat all summer long.
The responses were every bit as delicious as we hoped. From light, fruity desserts and creamy mousses to beloved family classics and can't-stop-at-one bites, these are the recipes that have become summer favorites in bungalow kitchens.
1. Fruity Nacho Fiesta by Faigie by Brigadoon Uptown

When this inquiry came through on the Kosher.com bungalow chat, I thought it’d make a good excuse for a mommy night activity. So we made up for each mommy to bring a simple baked goody, either from the freezer or fresh, and we sat around the dining table to taste test and vote. As soon as Faigie walked in with this beautiful fruity masterpiece, presented on such a pretty natural wood cake platter, the rest of us knew our recipes didn’t stand a chance.
At every gathering, Faigie is here with her warmth, fun-loving spirit, and something scrumptious, tasteful and always so beautifully presented. So thank you, Faigie for this treat. And thank you Kosher.com for giving us the opportunity to get together. This was fun!
2. Cinnamon Pecan Rugelach with Cream Cheese Glaze by Pine Knoll

For many of us in the bungalow colony, a fast day means spending the day listening to Shiurim while baking for after the fast. In our family these rugelach are a favorite. The original recipe had a chocolate filling, but this version definitely takes it up a notch!
3. Wholesome Breakfast Cookies by Seven Stars

4. Lotus Mousse by Twin Bridge Estates

Fast and easy, perfect for upstate, and always a crowd-pleaser.
5. Strawberry Dubai Cups by Armon Estates

6. Passion Curd by Tara Acres

7. Peanut Butter Cheesecake Mousse Cups by Friendship Cottages

This dessert originated with Raizy, who was always serving this up to anyone lucky enough to be around. It became a classic Friendship dessert treat synonymous with the Tesslers! It’s a crowdpleaser and simple and fast to pull together!
8. Pavlova with Fresh Fruit and Strawberry Sauce by Bush Gardens

9. Healthy Twix Bars by Rosenzweig

10. Strawberry Ice Cream with Lotus Crunch by Cutlers
