Fall is officially here, and with it comes a chill in the air, which means you’re going to need some help staying cozy in the sukkah when the temps drop at night. Tea and coffee are great, but we all know dessert’s the real way to go! I mean, what’s better than warm desserts right out of the oven?!
Plus, your guests will feel right at home when the warm aromas of apples and spices greet them at the door. It’s a total win-win!

I find this recipe to be a perfect Yom Tov recipe, as most of the preparation can be done way in advance, yet they will still be perfectly fresh.
15. Chocolate Custard Cookie Pie by Michal Frischman

If we’re really being technical, this is a giant chocolate chip cookie covered with chocolate pudding (my mother’s favorite dessert!). But this pudding is nothing like the powdered mix or after-school snack packs you usually associate with pudding; it’s a super smooth and custard-like chocolate pudding that is rich and delicious. Sorry, Ma, I’m never going back to powdered pudding again!
16. Apple Blueberry Crisp by Brynie Greisman

This presents beautifully in individual pie crusts or puff pastry shells. I give the option of a healthier crust as well. Not too sweet, it is a perfect accompaniment to chicken and meat dishes. Drizzle with blueberry syrup for additional pizzazz and flavor. It can double as a light dessert; shpritz with a dollop of whipped topping if desired.
17. No-Margarine Chocolate Babka from the Dining In Cookbook

Great babka or kokosh recipe – best of all, no unhealthy margarine or shortening!
18. Deep-Dish Caramel Apple Cake by Estee Kafra

A crisp topping with a soft cake underneath, this recipe has become our new family favorite. You need a large, deep Pyrex or glass dish for this one, either round or rectangular.
19. Cinnamon Bun Pie by Miriam Pascal

This recipe was originally intended for my first cookbook, Something Sweet. Sadly, under tight deadlines, I didn’t have the time to give this recipe the time and attention it needed. Luckily, I didn’t forget the idea completely, because once I had the time to develop this recipe properly, it became an instant hit and a family favorite!

Cranberry-Pear Pie is a delicious fall dessert with full cranberry flavor, tart and tangy with a hint of spice from cardamom. I know that I’m not the first person to stick pears with cranberries. But, there is a reason for that. Pears are the perfect fruit to gently, subtly moderate the bright, tart cranberry taste. Pears don’t try to be the hero. They are happy sidekicks. I carefully formulated the ratio to ensure that this is a cranberry-forward pie. Think of the best ever cranberry sauce expertly crafted into a thick slice of buttery pie.
