We're at a funny point in time where everyone and their neighbor is a foodie, yet we've also become obsessed with making things that are as fast as can be, often with store-bought ingredients as a base. We call this half-homemade. Maybe it's not really a contradiction, and we can be on the fast track some days, and slow it down to a low simmer for some great from-scratch delicacies other weeks. These weeks leading up to Rosh Hashanah, with school starting in tandem, are probably some of the most hectic moments in our calendar. We decided to hasten the pace for you this Rosh Hashanah, and present a collection of ideas and recipes that are as quick and as makeable as possible.
